The family of compounds known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) used in consumer and industrial manufacturing are present in the environment and are comprised of over 6,000 compounds. The most widely known compounds in this group are perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). However, the list of compounds of interest is growing quickly as new standards are developed.

The most prevalent remediation approach requires the on-site placement of a treatment system. These systems often have multiple functional constraints that make treating these compounds at your project site both difficult and costly. The systems can have significant cost overruns, require dedicated on-site field labor, and may not be best suited for handling bulk volumes or wastewaters with multiple constituents and contaminants present.
